Rosemary Maker

Rosemary has been a Sutherland Shire resident for over 27 years, living in Oyster Bay before downsizing to the heart of Miranda.

Raising her two daughters in the area she knows firsthand the important role Council plays in supporting young families through the provision of local parks, sporting fields, leisure centres and libraries, as well as community and children’s services.

Rosemary knows that these services form a vital support network for all families in the Shire. As a Councillor, Rosemary will work to protect and enhance these important council services.

As we welcome new residents to the Sutherland Shire traffic congestion is ever increasing. A solution needs to be found. Further congestion and stress upon infrastructure needs to be avoided. Rosemary is insistent that our voices must be heard on this pressing issue.

As a Councillor, Rosemary will work hard to ensure that the Sutherland Shire remains a desirable and liveable place now and for future generations.

Nick Palmer

Growing up in the Shire has given Nick an immense appreciation for our community -  it is why he is so eager to serve his community.

Nick wants to ensure the Shire remains not only the best place to live in Australia, but also the best place to work. The Shire needs local jobs. It is important that Council keeps investing in our industrial and business precincts to ensure the Shire remains an attractive place to stay and invest.

The Shire is well placed to have a vibrant night-time economy, but it needs the support of Council to grow. Many night spots have struggled due to a lack of support, resulting in a loss of opportunity for jobs and investment as well as providing for local recreation.

It’s important that we encourage local artists and businesses to grow and ultimately help sustain the night-time economy.

As a Councillor, Nick wants to ensure the Shire supports those who live here. He knows that the Shire is at its best when Council helps to create opportunities for growth in the local community.
